This YouTube challenge has been a TON of fun .

… it ’s been a blast .

Yesterday I station the terrific conclusion to the “ 30 Videos in 30 Days ” challenge issued to me by my friend Justin Rhodes :

My seraphic Rachel mischievously dislocate her toe while we were take , slipping in the chocolate plantation and close up her foot right away into a great stone , snapping the destruction of her toe sideways and totally out of stick .

We were down the hill when it come about , in the jungle , and getting back to the house was tough .

Note to self: learn the proper fireman’s carry.

Thanks to that mishap , we had to take a four - hour roundabout way to the hospital on Monday to verify it was n’t give … but even as she seat on the porch with a travelling bag of frappe on her infantry , waiting for a ride to the hospital , she urged me to “ get out of doors and film the rest ! ”

luckily there was n’t a breaking as I had originally feared from the horrible slant of the toe … but boy , we got very close to miffing the challenge on the thirtieth day .

I had a grand plan for this final video recording that take quite a bit of planning ahead , plus I had to get word how to use unripened screen to make the Bahfeemus .

It was a lot of fun .

Overall the answer to my young telecasting has been very positive . Except for this guy cable , sing about my videoHow To Germinate Peach pit :

It was so annoyingly annoying he had to use the word “ annoying ” twice !

Bahfeemus

I enquire if Robert ever count on out how to develop peach stone pit … or if perhaps he was just lonely , jab around on his keyboard , surf YouTube for an vexatious television , dandruff and Cheeto dust eddy furiously around him as he type …

Where was I ?

Ah yes – the challenge !

And here ’s where I was on Day 30 in the early evening :

I care I had screen - capped Day 1 , but I did n’t .

There are 151 days get out in 2016 .

Day 2 - July 5 2016

That ’s almost 6,000 short ; however , there is an upward curve on subscription that might still get us there if that continues . The improved quality of the video should attract newfangled witness , as will Justin Rhodes ’ promised promotion of my channel in the hereafter .

I reckon I ’m rifle to make a LOT more videos than I did before this challenge begin . big , better , more helpful TV .

So What’s Next?

Here on the web log I usually receive roughly 2,000 pageviews per day . Here ’s the chart for the last month :

That ’s really not bad … except when you begin consider in how very much time it fill to write 300 - 1200 run-in per 24-hour interval and keep things interesting .

Unfortunately , my new berth may only get 200 - 400 views over the course of the week they were release , then they fall off .

Day 30 YouTube

Some of them get a caboodle more over prison term ; however , I ’ve take in that a heap of my traffic is coming from a few hit posts from the retiring and random searching for things like “ ivy gourd ” and “ lettuce cane ” and not from the 5 article a hebdomad I bring out to maintain my weekday schedule .

My high spirit level of productiveness on this site is n’t getting me the take I demand . I do much well on my book sales and I ’m get more views on my YouTube television channel than I do here .

My ally William Horvath of theexcellent Permaculture Apprentice sitehas been helping me rethink some of my scheme .

pageviews

Assuming I write an middling 500 words a 24-hour interval here , I could have a new “ Good Guide ” book of account write about every 70 years if I did n’t spill all my digital ink on post .

I could also work much hard on my YouTube duct and spring up that interview , facilitate me make a little more income per month thanks to the shortsighted ads Google run on the telecasting .

I could write more articles forMother Earth News , Backwoods Home , Marjory Wildcraft’sGrow Networkand other sites and spend more fourth dimension getting in contact with trendsetters like Jack Spirko .

August 30th marks the end of my 4th twelvemonth of stake here every weekday . I believe I ’ve only miss one or two daytime in that time period and those were due to circumstances beyond my control .

I ’ve written over 1100 postal service that are still up . I did houseclean up some of my old stuff and wipe off some announcements when I switched from FloridaSurvivalGardening.com to this internet site , but these 1100 + articles are a great bequest of my gardening work and thoughts .

I ’m think of dropping down to a couple of posts a week here on a regular agenda so I can get some breathing elbow room to write for larger sales outlet and work more on my books .

I greatly appreciate my audience and the many of you I ’ve met online or in individual . Your encouragement , photos , ideas … they ’re like upright food for my mind . I believe I ’ve find out as much from you as you have from me .

I ’m not die to quite being creative and sharing , I just guess I might be spending 80 % of my time on the web site that only gets me a 20 % return .

And I ’m not going to renounce posting altogether – far from it ! I am just think through the idea of giving myself a couple thousand words a month I can partake in elsewhere .
