Day to Spring: 17

‘ Tempest ’ summertime squash is a unexampled cultivar from Johnny ’s Selected Seeds that is being tout as having “ prominent culinary timbre . ” So as a consumer of outstanding culinary quantity , I am definitely concerned in growing this vegetable . To date , I am still looking for my go - to variety of summer squash ,   so when the hoi polloi who grow / breed / betray squash say that this one is “ striking , ” I sure enough take placard .

At first , I thought “ outstanding culinary quality ” was just the marketing copywriter ’s way of saying it tastes good . And while ‘ Tempest ’ reportedly is pleasant-tasting , it also “ retains its configuration , texture , and discolour through a multitude of cooking methods , from grill and ridicule to pickling and braise . ” I ’m sold .
