Yesterday Rachel and the children made gingerbread cookie ornaments for our Christmas tree .
As Rachel puts it , “ when we make cookie ornamentation , there ’s no pauperism to box them up and put in them – we just use up them after Christmas ! ”
Everything start fairly usually , with each child making and beautify ornament in their own way .

My eldest girl was most careful in the construction of her ornamentation , making each one of them a work of art .
But my ten - year - onetime son was n’t making any at all .
“ Are n’t you going to make some ? ” Rachel asked .

“ Not yet , ” he reply . “ I ’m waitress on _ _ _ _ _ _ to make hers . ”
Which he did , then copy hers exactly , much to her botheration .
“ I ’m China , ” he said . “ I just wait for you to make something , then I copy it . ”

It was a pleasant evening watching the nestling decorate an regalia of biscuit in their own ways .
Some of the cookies were a little weirder than others .
And some cut into pure terror :

The Christmas tree topper my children added is a little different as well .
That is “ Screaming Dungeon , ” a skirt we ’ve have since my eldest daughter was a child . She named him that when she was little . He often stick out in for an angel at the top of our Christmas trees .
As the child worked on their decoration , I painted a small sketch of them work :

I highly recommend wrick off your computer , phone and TV and spending some time decorating Christmas cookie . It ’s good for the soul .
Though I made the misapprehension of get the child consume one . Before she had one , she was n’t as concerned in the tree . Now , however …
Have a wonderful weekend .
