Filling containers with beauty
My name is Jolene ( aka Jojo ) . Flowers have been a part of my living since puerility . My beautiful mother is a masterful flower nurseryman and couturier . I be in Lancaster , Pennsylvania , where I ’m an oncology nursemaid by day and a gardener and candlemaker by night . I adorecontainer gardening , which is a requisite when you have asmall space . I find peace and healing from container horticulture . I call it my “ dirt therapy . ”
Most of the photos I take are inspired in the moment . Do n’t get me wrong — I take planned picture , but the most beautiful ones are pep up by the feeling that is evoked at that moment .
This is my muse in the summertime , and I change her hairstyles throughout the summer . I have intercourse this lemon yellow coral sedum(Sedummexicanum‘Lemon Coral ’ , Zones 7–11 or as annual ) . I modify her hairdo throughout the summer . I also love the means the shadows are in this photo . I had to flick some photos before the inflammation change .

This is Percy , our beautiful packer — and a bloom garden muse as well . On my days off , she expect by the door as I make my umber and then leads me out to our flush haven .
Our step need a little work . For now , we ’ve made them whimsical by planting hen and chicks(Sempervivum , Zones 4–8 ) in the crack of the concrete .
We dwell in a row plate in Lancaster , Pennsylvania . Ours is the only base on the block with a garden display . I ’ve come through the Lancaster City prettiest porch award for two years . I love when hoi polloi stop and take pictures . Last twelvemonth , a duet of citizenry asked if they could take photos of their kiddos next to the flowers . This pic is from June 2020 .

This is one of several braid hibiscus(Hibiscusrosa - sinensis , Zones 9–11 or as one-year ) my beautiful mother corrupt for me . I put them in containers and underplanted them with creeping Jenny(Lysimachianummularia , Zones 3–9 ) . This flower bring me months of pleasure . I ’ve never seen this type of hibiscus .

I love using improper planters such as this chicken feeder . My female parent gave me a smattering ofsedumfrom her garden . I now have a plentiful amount that I share with Quaker and neighbors .

you could make beauty from broken matter . I used some creeping Jenny to plant over the crack in the terra - cotta .
I am a candlemaker with a low business . I employ flowers from my garden to lend a particular surprisal for my customers .
