In a Vase on Monday. Celebrating Autumn Colour.

The last few days have been   attractively warm and sunny   but autumn is here and so my musical arrangement celebrate the marvelous chromaticity of this season . I used my nice little browned jug which is a Pearsons of Chesterfield jug , it reminds me of a shiny brown conker .

Zinnias go on and on both in the garden and in a vase .

The leaf are heuchera , Spiraea japonica‘Goldflame ’   and an orange flame nettle . The berries are unripe skimmia single .   The green hops on the left come along everywhere in my garden and are a bit of a pain but still I allow one or two to climb tree .

I have also usedNicotiana alata‘Limegreen ’ as I enjoy green flush .

For orangish prime power I have used a spray from one of my crocosmia seedlings and the smart orangeDahlia coccineawhich is a species dahlia from Mexico with individual bloom . It is not supposed to be audacious but mine has pull round alfresco for several years .

The shiny , silken efflorescence areHesperantha coccinea‘Major ’ . We are not allowed to call it schizostylis any more . I ’m quite glad about that because I could never remember how to import it .

I adore this arrangement . The colours are wonderful together , it looks like a beautiful oil painting . Some very beautiful flowers . I ’m annoyed about the schizostylis as I ’ve just got the hang of the name though I still ca n’t spell it either .

The colors of this autumn vase are spectacular … .I absolutely love its fall colors and texture !

what a brilliant collection of autumn colors your assembled ! I wish well I could get some of the pretty Heuchera leaf to survive here – just one heatwave and it burn to a crisp !
