I ’m getting uneasy . There ’s much to be done , but in my modified clock time on weekends , the oestrus on steroids has me behind schedule . I need to deadhead and weed and nick out the tree seedlings before they require a backhoe . For the first time in age , crabgrass has invaded the front side yard , but even though I got my shovelful sharpen , the dry ground makes it such a task to dig them out . Then , in the front side funnies between us and the rental , we get a real first : chiggers ! Fortunately , I had soil sulfur , something that pour down chiggers , so I broadcast and watered it in .
I really necessitate to plan , too , because there ’s a luck to be done on the renovation aspect . The cat cove is a mess . Side beds involve care . The caducous doors progressively occupy my pacification of mind . And , I ’m excogitate a really fun task that has me excited ( more later ) but I ca n’t have that dessert until I rust my vegetable .
Oh , speaking of nutrient , I have to get the lettuce layer make clean up and prepped . Order lightbulb . Update my flora spreadsheet from APRIL ! Still , it ’s just so hard to get in gear . At the same clip , we ’re on the countdown to cooler weather , so this weekend I consecrate to cumulate my scattered notes of industrial plant ideas and get serious .

decisiveness - qualification is too hard , but thanks to the brain squirrels last fall and wintertime , I ’ve got fun stuff to see now . One of my spring addition popped out in front decently before the rain .
After the rain , these arrive in the French pancake bed and more should be total .
I purchase these rainlilies , Zephyranthes labuffarosa , at the same time . But since they ’re whitened , and the pinkish one has unlike flower petal , it could beHabranthus robusta , a pink that I have in backthat seeded itself , or it could just have gotten mixed into the bunch . Who hump , but I enjoy them both . Cedric want to look up to them , too , from one of his favorite stamping ground in the crape layer .

The next sidereal day , these and many others open in the front layer . notice to Linda list : sum up more . And in subject you ask : Barton Springs Nursery , produce byYucca Do .
The day I bribe the rainlilies , I hauled home several of these purple umbrella plant ( Trachelliumceerueleum ) . They ’ve been a great foliar addition , but their tardy summer flowers are most welcome . This one is next to the Mexican marjoram . I ’m always looking for thing that take over shade .
Near their sweet coolness , batface cuphea and cosmos wake things up in their blasts of Sunday just a foot or two away . I seeded cosmea to hold the place reserve for Gulf genus Penstemon , but I like this combination so much that I suppose I ’ll keep this architectural plan . I ’ve identify a great spot in the front seam to haul the penstemons from lettuce - commonwealth . In winter , I ’ll fill the speckle with something fun , yet to be decided , when cool days reawaken the dormant idea manufactory .

Along the back fence , the passionvine is clamoring over everything . I ’ve long forgotten which one it is , since I ’ve tried so many . A few year ago , I moved this ego - starter from the crape layer to the fencing , which it admit with satisfaction .
ultimately , Harvey the hare is chomping down arugula that ’s still hanging on . He also likes the basil and oregano , which I want to prune anyway , and I did n’t need it all for us . If I train him flop , I may get a little helper out of this !
Many PBS stations are in Pledge to bring up money for the program you hump , so please see your itemisation for CTG repetition of programs you may have missed . We ’re already taping September ’s programs and I promise you an challenging dip rail line - up ! Until next week , Linda
