I ’ve already apportion a few garden makeovers here at Gingham Gardens that you could read abouthereandhere . Today , I ’m belong to share An Easy Garden Makeover .
Here ’s what this area looked like when we move in last August . Later in the drop , we had the multiple - body ash tree tree cut down , so we were left with this eldritch area with three or four pulpit sticking up and a genus Funka rise out of the heart of them .

Here ’s how it count this outpouring after the Tree were cut down . I tried to discount it , but once I finished thetiered garden , this little orbit was crying out for help .
First , I scavenge up the area by raking off all the previous mulch and pulling the weeds . Underneath the mulch was a bed of rock and radical , so I cleaned out as much of that as I could get . Then I added several bags of compost . As I dug holes for the plants , I clean out more roots and rocks . Okay , so perchance this is n’t sounding so easy , but compare to some of my other makeovers , this was a piece of cake . As a side note , the area in the desktop of this picture looks so terrible that I ca n’t believe I ’m sharing it , but I ’m just essay to keep it real here .
A few of my favored gardening things :
I planted four genus Funka – Lakeside Little Tuft , Touch of Class , Sugar Daddy and Halycon . Alternating with the hosta , I planted two Sugar Plum Coral Bells ( genus Heuchera ) and two Solar Eclipse Foamy Bells ( heucherella ) . To fill in holes and to add some tonic of colour , I planted impatiens . And just to test I ’m keep it real , here ’s another unsightly quite a little , but all part of the appendage .
The orb sales booth was a flea market find and it seemed to be a perfect fit for the center of this niggling pear-shaped peak bed .
And the last after picture . As it fill in , my hope is that the tree stumps will be less seeable .
