I find this scrap book last week , which is timely since it is Father ’s Day . As long as I can think , my dad was old . I intend , I was just joking with his last calendar week that I am about half his eld , so I only knew him with gray-haired hair , and he was retired by the time I graduated in high spirits school . As a confirmed ‘ accident ’ , I am not even let in in the big mural of my sept that he painted on the wall of our kitchen in 1952 , since all of my brothers and sisters are at least ten days older than me , and then , ten years later on , I came along .
The boys of the Wildwood Nature Club have the last names of many who still live in our neck of the woods today . Their offspring bear on to be our neighbors , which is overnice in a universe where most people are transient . With sobriquet like Pudge , Nipples , Spibby , Rudgy , reading this account book is like watching a full stop pic like Cider House Rules or October Sky . The boys spent most of their time hiking and camping in the New England area during the depression of the 1930 ’s .
Dad took noteworthy candids of his friends skiing , playing field hockey or just fooling around , which is rare for that sentence . Most people posed for camera images . Dad had an early sake in picture taking , and he was capable to build a darkroom in one of the superfluous rooms upstairs complete with trash plates and equipment . I never knew what television camera he had , but we have album after album of photos from this geological era , many focusing on the boy ’ adventures exploring .

I desire you enjoy these , I only posted about 15 icon ranging from their membership in the Burgess Radio Nature League , to their affiliation in the National Audubon Society as Junior phallus , and more . Later , I might show some of my pappa ’s cartoon and picture from his trip with Roger Tory Peterson to Muskungus Bay in Maine as they looked for Puffins ( a bit of account , perhaps ! ) .
Dad is active and well today , although his hearing is going as is his eyesight , he still visited with his girlfriend today and feed the birds and squirrels before repay to her theater for a few night . He lives with us most of the week , and spends retentive weekend with his ‘ dame acquaintance ’ Clair , who is a spry nestling at 85 . Little demon .
A Thomas Nelson Page from my male parent scrapbook showing his pen and ink gift . I thought that it was interesting that this Sir Frederick Handley Page shows that the Massachusetts state snort was once the Veery . I ’ll want to count that fact up .
