Beekeeping Mistakes
There are some thing we did right when we first started beekeeping 2 twelvemonth ago , like ensuring there was plenty of pee approachable for the bee . Our beekeeping mistakes have been dear , both financially and costly to the bee since we have by chance killed 2 beehive but that is n’t stopping us from continually strain to be backyard beekeepers .

The bee colony was small and blue Italian bees . These ladies rarely sting and were not smashing at defending the beehive from wasps . Wasps , yellow jacket , wopsies , winged shit whatever you require to call them , these guys were waltzing in and out of the beehive like they owned it and would dive on returning worker bees like a pack of hyaena attacking until the bee was numb and they could banquet .
Urgh , it was n’t pretty to watch .
Right before winter determine in , the beehive was really struggling to keep the wasps out .
This year , we are actively trapping the WASP in multiple property by from the hive . I even put wildflowers along my fence transmission line until the neighbor across the street put his grass wacker to them . Now I await to sow in more flowering perennial in the front M and around the veg garden . My married man kindly agree to set in another garden bottom in the backyard just for flowers for the bees . I do n’t think we made a mistake in the bee we have keep : Italians and Carniolans . Both of these bee types have been recommended for our area and we have had them from different sources .
