Cooking outdoors is a must in the summertime . While I do savour barbeque on our natural gas grill , I love the thought of ready outside in a more natural way of life . Cooking with fire , hot coals , the sun , or the earth is really appeal to me in a fundamental direction . I especially have it away the idea of a woods fired brick or cob outdoor oven .

6 Ways to Cook Outdoors (without charcoal or propane)
When Joel and I were on ourhoneymoon last class in Costa Rica , one of the off grid eco stamping ground we stayed at had a brick pizza oven , and let me tell you , this was the bestpizzaI have ever had !
We are planning to work up our own outdoor bread and pizza pie oven , hopefully this fall , and will be usingThe Backyard Bread & Pizza OveneBook by Teri and Brian from Homestead Honey as a guide .
This is an awesome record book with step by step instructions on how to do it , including slap-up photograph . For now , though , I have these 6 way to manipulate outdoors naturally , without wood coal or propane , to get your fires burning !

Over an Open Fire
The first room is reasonably straightforward , as this is likely how our human ancestors wangle . essentially , you cook over a direct fire ! Of course , we ’ve all plausibly done this with marshmallow or red-hot dogs while camping , and food on a peg is the simple way to go about it . But , you may also put agrill or grateover the attack and char up some burgers or veggies that way . Or you may hang acast iron Dutch people ovenover the flame ( this tripodmakes it slowly ) and make a big peck of soup or chili .

Use Those Hot Coals
For food that postulate less oestrus than a lineal flame , you may utilize the spicy coals from a flame . I love this approximation ! fundamentally , first you dig a pit in the background . Then you ’ll either make a fire directly in the pit until it turns to coals , or you may move hot coal or hot rocks into the infernal region .
